Samsung is the leading manufacturer of Android devices,
it has a wide range of technology and equipment with a superior quality,
and this tablet, follows the same line.

and features of this tablet, and the result will be seen in this
analysis.

General Specifications
OS: Android 4.0.3 with TouchWiz UX UI
CPU: 1GHz Dual Core Cortex-A9
RAM: 1GB
Display: PLS TFT 10.1 "1280 x 800 pixels
Cameras: Rear - 3.15 Mpx, Front - VGA
Video: 720p
Box
As mentioned in the unboxing, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2
10.1 comes with a USB cable with 30-pin connector, an adapter to connect
the power plug and manual.
Screen
This tablet has a built-in screen 10.1 "
Super PLS capable of reproducing images and videos to a quality far superior to that played by most tablets with IPS technology.
It has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels with about 149
ppi, being very low for the screen size and resolution, allowing
visualization of pixels with the naked eye in both images, and full HD
images with the camera. Already on the other hand, the
brightness and clarity of the screen is sufficient for proper viewing in
sunlight or open environments with very light.
Despite being coated with Gorilla Corning Glass, there
appears to be resistant to marks of the fingers, in less than no, show
good marks as much mexemos the screen.
The playback quality of image and video is expected
within what could be better is true, but we can not expect much better
from a PLS, so that currently uses the IPS True, being much higher.
A 10 inch screen is ideal for any type of situation,
especially for jobs picture, writing texts and emails, read documents,
watch movies and even play (perhaps not entirely appropriate for when
games require the use of sensors and fingers).
SoC (CPU and GPU)
The Galaxy Tab 2 has a TI OMAP 4430 SoC, 1GHz Dual-Core ARM Cortex-A9, although not Quad-Core SoC is a fairly efficient.
I performed several tests the CPU and the results can be
quite pleasant, but in some situations, like watching a Full HD movie
720p, is that there was a higher processing and a higher battery
consumption in standby mode or normal consumption 300 ~ 500MHz, even
during games I tried, failed to 600MHz processing.
During testing I have not seen any crash or freezes yet
to play Need For Speed Most Wanted, more detailed in some parts, the
game is a little slow motion, which is not the case in Asphalt Heat 7 or
Modern Combat.
This SoC has a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, the same
found in all equipment with the Hummingbird SoC (Ex. Galaxy S and Galaxy
Tab), Samsung Galaxy Nexus and others, despite being a Dual-Core
processor, supports almost all types of work and graphics processing.
Cameras
The quality of the camera is quite good, not exceptional, but is within what a good camera can provide 3.15MPx. One
of the weaknesses is not flash, it's really a shame because in some
places darker the quality of the photos are not really bad quality. Another downside is not having zoom.
The front camera is VGA, I was not expecting something
much better to judge that the main camera is only 3.15MPx, the images
are quite dark and without much quality, but the quality is normal for a
camera of this type.
The recording quality is 720p, the video gets a very good quality, of course it also limited the quality of the lens itself.
Storage
This tablet exists in both 16GB and 32GB, used for this analysis is 16GB. The
usable space and is just over 11GB, the remaining space is used by the
system, a good part of the space used by the system is the TouchWiz
interface that even in smartphones occupies a good portion of the space
reserved for the system.
Unique Applications
As with any stock rom, this also comes with the trade mark unique applications such as:
Chaton - This
is a chat application, as the name implies, it is necessary to use a
Samsung account, which can be created to access the application.
Game Hub - Game Hub - is a gaming portal that you can download to the device.
Memor. - Memorandum mean in Portuguese, is an application that works like a notepad where you can add lines for things not to forget.
Music Hub - music portal is a gender iTunes, where the album appears highlighted and where we can buy the album or song separately.
Readers Hub - is an aggregator of news, however, like the other "Hub" is required in order to use Samsung account.
S Planner - And an agenda where we can make exclusive Samsung markings, etc..
Suggest S - is a portal of suggested applications and games can be both friend suggestions as to others in the network. Need account for Samsung works with Samsung Apps.
Samsung Apps - is similar to Google Play, is a store of applications and games.
Polaris Office - is an application of the kind of office that usually comes in stock roms, Documents To Go
Autonomy
This tablet has a battery of 7000 mAh Li-Po and one would expect a great autonomy.
I did an extensive test battery in GLBenchmark HD mode
Egypt C24Z16 with brightness at 100% and 30 FPS, and the test lasted 1
hour 28 minutes and 27 seconds and was still at 38% battery, which make
up the test equipment ask to load, the result would be greater.
In standby lasts over 1 week at normal consumption, 1 week or next. I
like using automatic brightness, influence the battery life, but the
maximum brightness, the battery will hold about 4 5 days (more or less).
Pros
- Graphics processing and general
- Design
- Autonomy excellent
- Simplicity in use and how we can hold the tablet
- 10.1-inch screen, ideal for all types of use
- Quality of the camera in bright environments
- Reception Wi-Fi
- GPS signal acquisition
- MicroSD card slot and SIMSlot for microSD card and SIM
- Stereo sound (a column on each side of the tablet)
Cons
- It does not have flash
- It is resistant to finger marks
- Not having updated to Android 4.1 or higher
- Sensors misallocated in which slightly spoils the design
- The camera could be better
- Price could be lower given the strong competition
Conclusion
Overall the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is an excellent
device, however, before the competition, like the tablets of the BQ, the
price could be lower. Samsung has produced excellent equipment and this is certainly one of them.
You can not please everyone, but in my opinion, I liked the experience I had with this equipment.
