After all what is faster: Ubuntu 12.10 or Windows 8?

The war between operating system is something that has always existed in the world of computing. The war is certainly more intense in the field of mobile devices, including iOS and Android, but the segment of desktop operating systems to the eternal comparison between Windows and Linux systems continues.
While there are several quality criteria to assess an operating system, such as security, reliability, complete programming interface, simple and well documented truth is that the tendency is always to make an evaluation based on performance.
Windows 8 or Ubuntu 12.10, after which the fastest?
